Broad match keyword setting

Modified on Tue, 3 Dec, 2024 at 11:29 AM

When enabled, broad match settings prevent the use of other match types in your campaigns. Adalysis will show an alert if you’re using the broad match keyword setting in your campaign. Here is how you can resolve this issue:

  1. Click on the alert in Adalysis for a list of affected campaigns. You’ll also find instructions on how to update this setting.

  2. Since this setting can't be changed via the API, you’ll need to update it directly in Google Ads. Log into your Google Ads account. Go to Campaigns and Settings.

  3. Select the campaign(s) you want to update and click on Edit. Scroll down to Change broad match keywords. Select Off: Use keyword match types and apply the changes.

Alternatively, you can also go into your Campaign Settings. Scroll down to the section for Broad match keywords and turn the setting off.

Once you’ve turned off broad match keywords, you’ll be able to use other match types in your campaigns. This gives you more control over your keyword targeting.
