A/B testing of RSAs

Modified on Fri, 3 Jan at 8:29 AM

To run an A/B test for a responsive search ad (RSA), you need to create a copy of the RSA and make any necessary changes. For example, you might test a fully pinned RSA against an unpinned version or compare different messages pinned at headline 1. Adalysis makes this process easy with bulk tools and editing options.

This video also describes the A/B testing workflow for RSAs in more detail.

1. Find and select RSAs to copy

In the Ads screen, use filters (e.g., campaign, ad groups, text in the ads, or labels) to find the RSAs you want to copy.

2. Copy selected ads

Go to Tools > Copy RSAs to open the tool.

The label field is mandatory, as it helps you find your newly created RSA later. Select an existing label or go to Labels > Manage labels > Create new labels

You can also copy the pinning of the original RSAs by checking Keep the same pinning as in the source ads

The new ads will be created in the same ad groups as the originals.

3. Edit your new RSAs

You can now use the RSA asset manager to make text or pinning changes in bulk. Use the filters to quickly find your new RSAs with the ad label you chose.
