When to test with image ad labels or sizes


This type of test is best for testing image ads in Google Display campaigns. It allows you to see which creative or ad size performs better based on your preferred metrics. 


How are the tests set up?


You can run the tests and see results instantly. Alternatively, you can set them to run daily. For example, if you're not satisfied with the statistical significance of your instant results, it may make sense to run them again.


Instant test results 



  1. Go to Ad testing > Multi ad group and click Find current winners.
  2. Select your campaigns and the date range for this test. A common date range means Adalysis will calculate a date range during which all ads within the test were active.
  3. Specify the ad labels you want to use for comparing your ad performance. You can also exclude ads in the Label contains none column. 
  4. Select the banner sizes you want to compare. You can use only labels, or only sizes, or combine the two. 
  5. Click Find current winners.  
  6. If you want Adalysis to run this test automatically, click Save & run this test daily.


Daily test runs 


We’ll alert you via your Adalysis dashboard once statistical significance is reached. You can save your test as described above or from the Daily results of your defined tests tab.



Understanding the test result data

 

You'll see the test results in the grid. Once you open the test result details, you will see the aggregate performance of each label/size (over the date range used) and the confidence the algorithm has in each of the metrics.  


You'll also see performance boost projections based on pausing all losing ads. 


Bulk actions


After viewing individual test results, you can pause the losing ads with a single click. 


Once you pause the ads, the test is marked as archived and you can always find it under the Archived test results tab.
