How do I connect a report to my own data source?
Important: please make sure that you've set up your Looker Studio account before starting this step.
On your Accounts overview, click on Reporting > Looker Studio reports. Once you open a report shared by Adalysis, it will automatically appear in your Looker Studio account.
Reports shared by Adalysis retrieve their data from a dummy source. You'll first need to create a copy of the report (see steps below) before you're able to edit it.
When copying a report, choose the Google Ads data source where the data will be retrieved. (Adalysis can't configure the data source for you, because Looker Studio doesn't offer us this option.)
You can create one copy of a report for each data source.
Step 1
Step 2
The new report will open in the Edit mode and will have the default name "Copy of ...". We'd suggest following a simple naming convention to make it easier to track these reports in the future. The Looker Studio help portal also has useful tutorials on how to make changes to a report.
How do I send a report to a client or colleague?
The Share menu gives you several options, including shareable links, email scheduling and PDF downloads.
How can we set up the same reports for all our client accounts?
You'll need to create one copy of the report for each data source (client) you have.
Since the report's data is refreshed automatically, you need only to create the report once. Your client will always have access to real-time data. In other words, you don’t need to keep sending the report every month.
To make it easy to manage the reports list, we'd recommend a simple naming convention, such as:
MyClientName or AccountName – ReportType
How can we remove report pages that don't apply to a particular client?
Once you create a copy of the report for a client, you can easily remove any unwanted pages by going to the 'Edit' mode and using the Page > Delete page menu option.
How can I schedule my reports monthly?
Looker Studio reports update automatically daily and the date range picker/filter will allow you to a time frame for your performance data. However, you can also schedule a regular email delivery by clicking on the “clock” icon below.
Can I see data in the reports that isn't in Google Ads?
Looker Studio directly supports many data sources including Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Sheets, YouTube, Google Search Console, file uploads and MySQL.
Looker Studio also supports many third-party connectors for access to other sources like Microsoft Ads, Facebook and X. You can see a list of all third-party data sources by clicking Explore connectors.
Why are there errors in the Microsoft Ads template?
The Microsoft Ads connector by Supermetrics will show a system error if there's no data to show. Connect the report to your data source (with data) and the errors will disappear.
